Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has reiterated the state’s commitment to commence payment of the agreed new minimum wage.

The governor made this claim in commemoration of his election as the governor of the state amidst a solidarity visit from Chairmen of the state’s 25 Local Government Council.

He said a committee is in place already and considerable progress is ongoing to begin implementation of the new minimum wage.

According to him, “At the moment, our top priority is to address those that have been affected directly by the minimum wage and what it means is anyone who is below the minimum wage policy”.

“I have given the directive that it should be implemented this January so that those that are entitled or fall within the class of minimum wage will get it”.
