POSITIONING NIGERIA AS A LEADING INVESTMENT DESTINATION WITH THE 2020 VISA POLICY

On Tuesday in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari flagged off implementation of 79 classes of visas under the new visa policy which is aimed at improving visa on arrival which come into effect in January 2020 having been developed by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), which is said to reposition Nigeria as a leading global destination for investment 

The implementation of the visa policy is said to be an improvement on the 2012 version and will increase the classes of visa from 6 to 79 in the country. The focus was to ensure that Nigeria is been placed on the map of becoming a major tourism and aviation hub globally. The visa classes cover area like short visit visas, social visits, short temporary viss, permanent resident visa, visa for investors and immigrants who have worked in Nigeria for over 20years and have retired.
