Nana Akufo- Addo, President of Ghana has pleaded on behalf of other neighboring states with President Muhammadu Buhari to reopen the closed borders. This he said is due to the adverse effect on Ghana, especially.
Akufo-Addo made this appeal in a recent meeting with Buhari in London.
He showed great understanding to the reasons for the closure but pleaded on behalf of the growing businesses in Ghana with a Nigerian market base.
Buhari earlier informed that the closure was not because of illegal moving in of foods and products but also ammunitions.
The Nigerian president said he risked the closure for the safety of his citizen and that of the country’s economy.
He however promised a reopening as soon as certain considerations are done with as well as assurance on compliance of neighboring countries with the ECOWAS trade protocol agreements.
