THE Nigerian Railway Corporation said its suspended Lagos-Ogun mass transit train service would resume operations in soonest time.

The District Manager of NRC, Mr. Jerry Oche said that the operation which was earlier suspended in September 2019, would resume. The transit will cover a one return trip daily from Kajola in Ogun to Iddo in Lagos.

He said that the one-day trip is to conduct trials and not overload the train service yet and also check the construction of the standard gauge rail line which is ongoing.

Oche fears that putting more trains on track might lead to issues of crossing and said the corporation is deciding to take it one step at a time.

The other suspended daily train services include the Mass Transit Train Services on the narrow gauge from Ijoko to Ebute-Meta and Apapa in Ogun and Lagos respectively.
